Apple today released Performance Update 1.0, addressing hard drive pauses affecting a “small number of customers” on a number of different Mac models. The update is available in Snow Leopard (300 KB) and Leopard (322 KB) versions.

Mac OS X 6.1 is available

Apple today released Mac OS X 10.6.1, the first maintenance update for Snow Leopard, via Software Update and Apple’s software downloads page. The most recent developer build of OS X 10.6.1, Build 10B504, was seeded just two days ago. The update brings several bug fixes, as well as an update to Flash Player to incorporate the most recent release from Adobe.

The 10.6.1 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes for:

- compatibility with some Sierra Wireless 3G modems
- an issue that might cause DVD playback to stop unexpectedly
- some printer compatibility drivers not appearing properly in the add printer browser
- an issue that might make it difficult to remove an item from the Dock
- instances where automatic account setup in Mail might not work
- an issue where pressing cmd-opt-t in Mail brings up the special characters menu instead of moving a message
- Motion 4 becoming unresponsive

Safari 4.0.3 update

Apple today released Safari 4.0.3 via Software Update, offering fixes for several stability and performance issues, as well as security updates. The new version is also available on Apple’s Safari download page.

This update is recommended for all Safari users and includes improvements to stability, compatibility and security including:

- Stability improvements for webpages that use the HTML 5 video tag
- Fixes an issue that prevented some users from logging into iWork.com
- Fixes an issue that could cause web content to be displayed in greyscale instead of color

According to the associated security support document, the update addresses a half-dozen security vulnerabilities, two of which are specific to Windows affecting CoreGraphics and ImageIO and the remainder affecting Safari and WebKit on all platforms.

At the center is Final Cut Pro 7, which expands ProRes codecs to support a wider number of workflows, and implements real-time collaboration through iChat Theater. iMovie 8.0.4 update

Apple today released iMovie 8.0.4, improving overall stability and addressing several specific issues.

This update improves overall stability and fixes a number of other minor issues. The issues addressed include:

- Fixed a problem with incorrect rotation when working with video created by iPhone 3GS
- Resolved instability when adding multiple beat markers in some languages
- Corrected an issue where iMovie could become unresponsive after using fine-tuning controls beyond the stabilized portions of a clip

The update is recommended for all users of iMovie ‘09.

The update weighs in at 35.56 MB and requires OS X 10.5.6 or later.

H Apple ανακοίνωσε τις τελευταίες βελτιώσεις που αφορούν το MobileMe. Ανάμεσα στις πιο σημαντικές είναι η υποστήριξη και διατήρηση της μορφοποίησης RTF σε e-mails που γίνονται forward ή reply, η δυνατότητα των κατόχων iPhone/iPod Touch να κάνουν search σε όλα τα μηνύματα (ακόμα και σε αυτά που είναι αποθηκευμένα στο server), και η δυνατότητα συγχώνευσης ημερολογογίων και επαφών κατά τον πρώτο συγχρονισμό με iPhone/iPod Touch.
